This World Hepatitis Day, July 28, 2023, we are pleased to announce the launch of HepFreeBC.ca, the new home base for the BC Viral Hepatitis Elimination Roadmap (known as “the Roadmap”).
The Roadmap aims to reorient the approach to viral hepatitis in BC, towards a future where viral hepatitis is no longer a public health threat.
The Roadmap project team is a coalition of individuals and organizations with diverse perspectives, experiences and knowledge. We come together to first better understand the current state-of-play with regard to viral hepatitis in BC, and then to develop recommendations for targets and strategies to reach viral hepatitis elimination in BC. This process involves and consults with a diversity of individuals: people with lived experience of viral hepatitis, healthcare professionals, government representatives, staff in community-based organizations, researchers, and advocates.
To stay informed or learn more, connect with us via the contact page on the website. The team looks forward to welcoming more people with lived and living experience, as well as invested organizations and groups to join this work throughout the process, as we work toward a hepatitis-free BC.
