On May 5th, 2022, OneSky Community Resources hosted a hep C screening event in Penticton’s Gyro Park with support from BC Hepatitis Network. We invited Stephanie from OneSky to share a bit about their event!
It was an empowering event for our peer employees, who got to support people they know in the community and new friends with Hep C care. IT was both educational for all of us, and enjoyable to work together as a team and have the impressive support of BC Hepatitis Network. It was so helpful to have the BC Hep Network support with all the little details, including advertising, leading up to the event, which gave me more time to support my employees and team and to share the beautiful posters you already made up for us. The day of the event was rainy, but the turnout was great in spite of the rain: over 15 people were tested, and three folks were referred to more care due to their results.
We are extremely grateful for all the work your team put in to make the event a success and to support us to support our community! We look forward to continued work with you and are very grateful for your work in BC. Thanks again!
